This seminar is jointly sponsored by the Calgary Police Service and the Southern Alberta District of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in an effort to expand the knowledge and expertise of negotiators, incident commanders and tactical officers by sharing new ideas, methods and experiences in an open forum of police officers, corrections officers and selected mental health professionals actively working with negotiators.
The format consists of case study presentations by the negotiators, commanders and tactical members actually involved in the incident. An open dialogue between the presenters and attendees is intended to promote learning through the experience of others. What worked, what didn't and why.
